BOROUGH PRESIDENT JOINS SOUP COMPANY IN MAKING A DONATION TO HELP FEED THE HOMELESS

Borough President Marty Markowitz (far left) gave hungry Brooklynites a chance to taste some great soup today courtesy of The Famous Manhattan SoupChef, a gourmet soup producer. The Famous Chef Fouad (2nd from right) ladled out the free samples of soup.

The people at The Famous Manhattan SoupChef are also mindful of the need for good food for those less fortunate. The company regularly provides soup for charities and donated 1000 meals today to Park Slope Christian Help Inc. (CHIPS) Executive Director Sister Mary Maloney (2nd from left). CHIPS is dedicated to helping homeless and unwed mothers.

“We thank The Famous Manhattan SoupChef for its generous donation which will help Sister Maloney and CHIPS continue all of its fine work in feeding and helping those in need,” said the Borough President.

There’s a lot about Brooklyn in The Famous Manhattan SoupChef, the New Jersey - based gourmet soup producer is actively seeking a new home in Brooklyn with the help of the Borough President.

Famous Manhattan SoupChef brings together award-winning Chef Fouad, a Brooklyn resident, with Brooklyn natives Sebastian and Lisa Rametta, who founded the company and are the Chairman/CEO and President, respectively.

Together they produce more than 40 varieties of delicious, all-natural soups that can be found at the gourmet counters of supermarkets such as Food City in Brooklyn, King Kullen Supermarkets, Gristede’s Supermarkets, delicatessens, cafes and other establishments that want to provide their customers with tasty, wholesome food. The Company also franchises its brand as gourmet soup stores. The first franchise location in Brooklyn will open at 503 DeKalb Avenue in December.
